What a difference a few years make.
Once upon a time, 11-year-old Lil Tay was proud to be the "youngest flexer" alive. She was filmed rapping in luxury apartments and vehicles.
But in the last few days, her brother has made unsubstantiated claims that her father is "abusing" her and has "stolen all of her money."
The statements echo posts made on Lil Tay's Instagram page in 2018 before she vanished out of the public eye.
On Wednesday (April 21st) a message appeared on the IG page's stories that read: “We have bad news about Tay…”It was written on a black background and led the way for mass speculation as to Tay's condition. On Friday, the Instagram account published a video of Lil Tay crying. The caption claimed that her father Christopher Hope and his wife Hanee had been "physically and mentally" abusive to her.[EMBED_INSTA]https://www.instagram.com/p/COCS33vF2y7/[/EMBED_INSTA]Her 18-year-old brother Jason Tian has asked fans to donate to a GoFundMe . It aims to raise $150,000 to help Angela Tian, her mother, regain full custody. So far it has raised over $13,000."Lil Tay will be fighting for her life, future and freedom starting April 23, 2021. Tay is in desperate need of funds to support her fight against her abusive father, as a result of this situation she has been in a state of depression," reads a statement on the GoFundMe page. According to the GoFundMe account the marks are from Tay's guardians "locking her in a closet and not letting her shower." [EMBED_INSTA]https://www.instagram.com/p/COBjVcOFZLO/[/EMBED_INSTA] Tay was just 9 when she gained internet fame after posting a number of controversial videos on Instagram.Lil Tay, whose real name is, Claire Eileen Qi Hope, went viral as the self-titled: "youngest flexer of the century."Tay rapped about her expensive cars, houses and designer gear. She was often seen hanging out with YouTubers Jake Paul and Woah Vicky. The school kid gained over two million followers on Instagram and became a social media sensation. This despite her talking down to her fans and using racial slurs in her raps.“I got a $350,000 chain, y’all haven’t seen this in your lives, I’m richer than all y’all... y’all broke and jealous,” the Vancouver native of Asian descent boasted. But it soon emerged her lavish lifestyle was just a front. Tay’s mother, Angela Tian, was fired from her job as a Vancouver real estate agent for filming her daughter in clients potential properties. She the disappeared from public life and her Instagram has been inactive since 2018. Her last post was a tribute to deceased rapper XXXTentacion .ncG1vNJzZmivp6x7tbTErZ%2Bippeoe6S7zGijoqRdqa66ecWapaxlkaeybrTOq6minpmasW6txa2cq2WgnrC1wdGeqmadnZq%2FqLGMqJ1mrJiaerWxxKdkoqZdl7%2B2tdKeqmg%3D
